Abstract

The focus of this stud= y is on the changed exposure to system accidents in the aviation industry. Based on Normal Accident Theory the study uses qualitative exploration of cases to h= elp derive how risk has changed since Perrow invent= ed the theory in 1984. The compiled evidence of selected focus areas suggests that= the aviation industry has become more exposed to System Accidents.
